The University of Liverpool provides a range of services including (but not limited to):
University Counselling and Mental Health Advisory Service
The university has counsellors who can meet with students’ individually, and daily drop in
sessions from 10-11am that they can simply turn up to. The service also provides support for

Disability Advice and Guidance
Mental health problems that cause significant difficulties and last more than a year are

Guild of Students’ Advice Service
Advice service (appointments arranged by email or phone) and a drop-in service, normally

International Advice and Guidance
The University has a team dedicated to helping international students, including postgraduate
research students, with any issues. Appointments arranged by email or phone and drop-in

External services
The University ‘Wellbeing’ pages also inform students of a range of external support including
Helplines including (Samaritans and Nightline), major Mental Health Charities (including
MIND and CALM), and Student Focused Mental Health Organisations (including Student
Minds and Students Against Depression), a list that the NHS maintains of UK organisations
