Methods North West

Methods North West provides interdisciplinary and innovative methodological training for researchers across the North West.

Methods North West highlights the depth and breadth of the North West’s methodological expertise in the social sciences, bringing together training initiatives from all four of the NWSSDTP partner institutions:

Methods North West runs a series of online methods sessions (aimed primarily at doctoral students) throughout the year. These events are styled and targeted to provide something a little different to the standards methods training. For more information, including booking and joining details, please visit the Methods North West ‘Methods Sessions’ webpage.

Methods North West also provides methodological support through a series of Methods Exchange (‘Methods X’) Streams, further details of which can be found on the Methods X Programme webpage.

NWSSDTP Students are encouraged to engage with the wide range training available, and are expected to attend the end-of-year Methods North West conference which takes place every year in May/June.

The majority of training opportunities available through Methods North West are open to all PGRs, not only students who are funded through the NWSSDTP.
